Softball Rules
Mixed Slowpitch Philosophy
Slowpitch softball is played as a co-ed game. On the field, there is a fixed gender ratio of 5 women and 5 men, and the batting order alternates. The primary focus is on fairness and enjoying the sport together.
The Pitching
The pitcher delivers the ball underhand in a clearly visible, high arc. A physical Strike Mat behind home plate determines balls and strikes: if the pitched ball hits the mat, it is ruled a strike.
Safety & Equipment
Safety first! Metal cleats are strictly forbidden. Additionally, a double Safety Base is used at first base to prevent dangerous collisions between the runner and the fielder.
No Stealing
Unlike traditional baseball, base stealing and leading off are prohibited. Runners can only leave their base once the ball has been struck by the batter.
